ABOUT US
Here at Wiridgil Kennels we have owned and bred JRT's for over 20 years. We have had loads of fun over the years with this wonderful breed, and have been extremely successful in the show ring as well.

We have bred many beautiful litters of pups over the years, and have been priveleged to meet many other JRT enthusiasts and special friends through our dogs.

Deb is the obsessive one of the family when it comes to Jack Russells. She finds it is very easy to become addicted to this charming little dog with so much character.

She has always been an animal lover and when the opportunity came up to get out of the rat race of Melbourne and move to beautiful Camperdown in Western Victoria, she was gone.

Then along came our first JRT, Koonda Barney and it all grew from there.

Deb always has plans for the future with the dogs, always committed to breeding the perfect Jack Russell with special attention to health, temperament and confirmation.

Steve has a love for animals too, but most of all is a great support for Deb's JRT passion, always there to help on days at the show, feeding time and kennel cleaning. Luckily he gets bit of time off to have a hit of golf or work on his 1949 Triumph Renown restoration.

We jokingly call our property "Funny Farm" because we have so many animals, the JRT's, a golden retriever "Pearl", a chocolate Labrador "Butch", a dove, a turtle "Fester", 4 steers, a thoroughbred "Lord", Fergus the Ragdoll cat and many gold fish.

We are members of the Jack Russell Terrier Club of Australia and The Victorian Canine Association.

Other interests when we get time are gardening, rock n' roll dancing and hopefully a hit of golf.

Wiridgil Homestead - where we got the name.
Wiridgil was built in 1885 for Thomas Manifold. The gracious, Late Victorian styled, bluestone mansion, set in a wonderful garden, designed by Sir William Guilfoyle."

It is where we got the name for our kennels from. We live on Wiridgil Road, Camperdown, the view from our verandah is of the Wiridgil Hills to the East.

The traditional Aboriginal Name "Wiridjil" meant KOALA.
